DGL – Glycyrrhzinic acid by HPLC NMT 3%

DGL, known as Deglycyrrhizinated licorice, is made in our company by standardizing it to contain no more than 3% glycyrrhizinic acid, as measured by high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC). This strict standard that we follow ensures that the potentially harmful effects of glycyrrhizin are minimized. The main focus of DGL production is to make use of the beneficial properties of liquorice root in a form that mitigates any adverse health risks that are typically associated with glycyrrhizin.

The primary use of the DGL is to aid in gastrointestinal health. It is commonly used to relieve discomfort from indigestion, heartburn, and acid reflux. DGL works by stimulating the body’s natural protective mechanisms in the gastrointestinal tract, increasing the production of mucus that lines the stomach walls thereby reducing gastric inflammation and shielding the stomach lining from harsh acids.
